See You on the Floor: Catch BZDesign at Optifab + Luminate Finals + the QED Open House, Right Here in Rochester!
Next week is a big one for Rochester’s optics and photonics community and BZDesign is proud to be part of the action. We’ll be on the floor at SPIE Optifab supporting QED Technologies as they launch their refreshed brand (designed by BZDesign), but more importantly, we’ll also be joining a broader gathering of innovators, startups, and thought leaders during Optifab + Luminate Finals.
Why Optifab Matters
SPIE Optifab is North America’s premier trade show for optical fabrication, bringing together manufacturers, engineers, researchers, and suppliers to showcase new technologies, share knowledge, and build connections. It’s a biennial event in Rochester and a hub for breakthroughs in optics, metrology, thin films, and more.
For BZDesign, Optifab is a chance not only to support QED’s brand launch, but to immerse ourselves in the conversations shaping the future of optics — the tools, systems, and interfaces of tomorrow.
QED’s Brand Reveal
At the show, QED will unveil its refreshed brand identity in Booth 624. This is just one part of our extensive collaboration with QED, which spans brand strategy, visuals, signage, and digital assets. We designed everything from logo evolution to the full tradeshow booth to help QED tackle the future with confidence. Look for our work in action on their business cards, signage, collateral and more during the show. Our Multimedia Designer Kelsea Ennis will be providing live show photography, telling stories in real time. Kelsea supports our clients across trade shows nationwide, making sure their brands shine in the moment and across all media.
QED Open House — Wednesday, Oct 22
If you’re in town for Optifab, on behalf of our partners we warmly invite you to QED Technologies’ Open House on Wednesday, October 22, 3–6 PM. You’ll have a chance to tour QED’s future home and their newly designed Customer Experience Center. Even more, you’ll be able to meet the SPIE Jam Band, presented by Optics for the Greater Good.

The Luminate Finals Energy
Parallel to Optifab is the Luminate Finals, the climactic moment of the optics-photonics accelerator run by NextCorps. This year’s event brings together the brightest startups in optics, photonics, and imaging-enabled technologies in a competition where 2 million in funding will be awarded to the winner.
It’s that intersection — of creative design, technical innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit — that we love. We’re excited to see what ideas rise, what technologies get commercialized, and what new partnerships form.
